See every path.
Play the best one.

Strong players don't think one card at a time. They see every way the hand can go, what each path is worth, and pick the move that wins on average against the player in front of them. Claude coaches you to think that way, hand by hand, with play chips.

At the practice table, you ask the coach

I called her flop bet with my flush draw. Now she bets 10 into 20 on the turn. What should I do, and what happens on each river card?

What her bets are telling us

  • Her turn bet means a king or better most of the time.
  • She rarely bluffs the river.

What you'll learn

Better poker. Clearer thinking.

Poker is decisions with missing information, a clock and pressure. That makes it one of the best places to train how you think. The coach trains the skill behind each decision.

  • Probability

Count your outs and compare them with the price, until it's a habit instead of a guess.

  • Exploiting tendencies

Work out what a player's bets mean, then change your plan to beat that specific player.

  • Thinking in paths

Weigh every way a hand can go and choose the move with the best average result. That's expected value, the core of game theory.

  • Calm under pressure

Judge your decisions, not your luck, and spot tilt before it costs you.

Why a coach

Solvers give answers.
A coach builds judgment.

Solvers are the best tool for finding the strongest play. But they leave three gaps that most players hit as soon as they start studying.

"What, not why."

A solver shows the play and its frequency. It doesn't tell you the reason, so the lesson doesn't stick.

UpfrontPoker: the coach explains the reason in plain words, and you can ask "why not raise?"

"Mixes I can't use."

Call 55%, raise 45% is correct, but you can't play it at a table against a real person.

UpfrontPoker: one clear action for each group of cards, chosen for the player in front of you.

"My hand isn't in the tree."

Real opponents use odd sizes and odd lines. Preset solver trees often have no answer for them.

UpfrontPoker: paste or describe any hand the way it happened, and the coach reviews it.

How it works

Play. Get coached. Improve.

Exact numbers from code, reasoning and teaching from Claude.

  1. Play practice hands

Sit down against AI opponents with different styles, from tight to reckless. Play chips only, never real money.

  2. Claude coaches you

Before and after each decision, Claude explains the odds, what the bets mean and your plan for the next card. Ask it anything.

  3. Review and drill

Paste hands you played elsewhere for a coached review. Your repeated mistakes become short drills.

It's a training tool for practice and review away from real games. It doesn't give real-time help during real-money games, and nothing here involves real money.

FAQ

Questions

Is this gambling?

No. UpfrontPoker is a study tool. There's no real-money play, no deposits and no cash-outs anywhere. It's for adults 18+.

Can I use it during a real-money game?

No. It's for studying hands afterwards. Real-time help during real-money play breaks most poker sites' rules, and we don't support it.

What does Claude do?

Claude, Anthropic's AI model, will be the coach, through the Anthropic API. It will explain each decision as you play, read what your opponent's bets mean, show you every path the hand can take, review hands you paste in and answer your questions at your level.

Is the advice always right?

Card counts and pot odds come from code, so they're exact. Strategy depends on assumptions about the opponent, and AI coaching can be wrong. That's why the coach always says what it's assuming, so you can see what changes against a different player.

How is this different from a solver?

A solver shows the strongest play against a perfect opponent. A coach teaches you why, in plain words, at your level, and adapts to the player you're facing. Many players use both.
